TOBACCO

Tobacco is drug or a chemical that is obtained from the leaves of the tobacco plant. Tobacco is generally not a banned substance but its usage and consumption have been widely regulated. Results have shown that the usage of tobacco or other tobacco related substances cause cancer to users. Smoking cigarettes are one of the injurious methods. The cigarette is nothing but a roll of paper sandwitching tobacco powder.

Tobacco usage has been prominent right from the time of the ancient kings of Rome and Egypt. Tobacco contains and addictive product called nicotine which accentuates death. Smoking tobacco also causes Lung cancer in addition to other respiratory diseases. It has been reported that the use of tobacco has been beneficial to patients who have Alzheimer’s disease and Schizophrenia.

In the early usage, many people did not realize the harmfull effects of Tobacco. In the United States, the Government passed a regulation stating that all companies that manufacture cigarettes or other tobacco products must provide a statutory warning .Tobacco consumption has increased by more than 3.4 % since last year and statistics reveal that of all the deaths due to cancer, Throat Cancer , Lung Cancer and Pancreatic cancer are triggered mainly by use of Tobacco.
